There is a phrase - "a week is a long time in politics". This painting represents that phrase on two levels;
first that whatever humans do, the sky will do what it wants. Second, there can be different political weather on each day.
Monday - everthing is looking pretty calm. Tuesday - we have the cirrus clouds, often the harbingers of storms.
Wednesday - oh dear. Thursday - looking pretty again. Friday - uncertainty - is this 'red sky at night, sailor's delight'
or 'red sky in the morning, sailor's warning'? Saturday - looking good on the horizon, but there is a dark cloud above us still.
Sunday - is this storm brewing or storm clearing?
